Hi there,
Yes! There's absolutely nothing to worry about. Egypt has nothing to do with the Middle East Conflict and tourists come and go all the time without facing any trouble. I personally get many visits from American and German friends who come over in the summer and have the time of their lives.
Don't hesitate and come! You'll have the time of your life! :)

Although Egyptians don't like Bush and his group, but it has nothing to do with American people. It's more safe than in the states. You can even walk in Cairo very late at night, but just don't go to very poor areas specially if it's clear you are a tourist. I think this is normal everywhere. Even when there were some accidents happened in the past people who visited felt very safe among Egyptians. Just if you buy something and you need a better price tell the seller that you will not vote again for Bush or people from the same type.
Some opinions says that always Israel is behind the terrorist accidents that happens in Egypt.
It happened in 1950's when they put some bombs in some American and English interest places to spoil the relations with Egypt, but later people were arrested and the truth was revealed. The case was known in Israel as (Lavone scandal) if you like to read about it.
Also there was a case less than 1 month ago with names of Israeli officers to make some troubles here. Nothing new along the history, but always tourists use to come and feel safe.
Welcome in Egypt and enjoy your time here and don't worry.

More or less. There is very little crime here, and the last terrorist incidents here occurred in Sinai resorts, not in Cairo. However:
"In addition to the Sinai attacks, there were three terror attacks on crowded tourist destinations in Cairo in April 2005. In one, a lone suicide bomber killed three foreigners, including an American, at Cairo’s Khan el-Khalili Market. Three Americans were seriously injured in this incident."
That was almost two years ago, and the government really amped up the security in Cairo after that. In tourist and expat areas, there is a very visible police presence.
That said, I am aware of an increase in sexual assaults in Cairo, including downtown and expat neighborhoods.
Personally, I feel safer here than I did in D.C., and there are few areas I don't travel into because of security concerns. As a tourist, you're likely to feel even safer and shielded from any unpleasantness.
You should come soon, though. Winter seems to be just about over, and it'll get pretty warm in a few weeks. Spring also brings some fun sand/dust storms, but not for a couple more months, insha'allah.

Yes of course ,Cairo is safe, there isn't a war in Egypt so no need to be afraid lol. You will find out that you can walk in the streets at 1:00 am without any fear because the city comes alive at night!
If your woman - Some advice would be to dress suitably, no low cut tops or mini-skirts.
Apart from that exception..nothing else really to be aware of!
I hope you have a nice time in Egypt (which I'm sure you will do!)
God bless.x

It is safe for americans to go anywhere ? I think not. If you let fear drives you, you better stay at home. If you have a family to protect, my advice is: don`t put your family at risk. Go to the U.S. State department site and check it out, then decide what is best for you.

As an American that has been to Egypt assorted cases, you will possibly desire to no longer evaluate your self to be Black or American in Egypt; you will possibly desire to evaluate your self to be a vacationer. the clarification being is that there is an definitely military of Tourism Police set as much as look after YOU. they're everywhere and are in uniforms that say Tourism Police (the two white or black uniform). So in short, as a vacationer you safer in Egypt than you're in the two manhattan city, DC, Paris, London, or Hong Kong. besides the undeniable fact that, there are places in Cairo that maximum Egyptians do no longer bypass in the event that they do no longer might desire to. in case you persist with the regularly occurring vacationer factors to comprise the factors of Heliopolis, Mahdi, Al-Rehab, and the Al Zemalek you will possibly desire to be high quality. stay far off from the section around the Islamic college of Cairo. whilst in Egypt, communicate approximately Egypt and the greatness of Egypt. it relatively is their sought after problem, you will discover graciousness, heat temperature, and hospitality via basically showing your appreciation of their way of life and u . s .. Be a solid customer, and that they are going to be large hosts As for mentioning which you're an American. This in my innovations is a double side sword. With advantages and sacrifice on the two factors. you may income from extra benevolent reaction via claiming Canadian citizenship. The undesirable area is you may desire to lie. And if all people properly-knownshows out which you're an American the question the Egyptians will ask themselves is "does he think of that we are all terrorists that choose for to kill him...the place is the affection?" besides the undeniable fact that, while you're a citizen Ambassador as all of us might desire to be, basically there to: a million. savour this way of life 2. savour the artwork 3. savour the form 4. and maximum extreme spend money to the income of the Egyptians Then once you tell them which you're an American as I do, they're the two extremely joyful or befuddled that there replaced into a minimum of one American that they met of their lives that replaced into no longer an conceited ***. and in line with danger, they might via extension supply our u . s . a raffle in any different case no longer given without an occasion to our collective extra desirable angels. purely a concept.
