I have one day/night in Tel Aviv before going on to Jerusalem for a tour (first time in Israel). What should I do and where should I stay for CHEAP?

There is a lot to see in Tel Aviv, i think the nicest is just to walk around the city, go to the Carmel market and the area of "Neve Tzedek" (very beautiful houses and art galleries).
From there you can walk to Jaffo to the flee market and the old city, the alleys there are named after astrological sines and are filled with galleries and jewelry stores...
I highly recommend going to see the sunset at the beach and maybe have a drink there.
There are a lot of grate eating places in Tel Aviv, on the way to Neve Tzedek (two birds at a time) you have a really nice Jewish food place called "Elimelech" Address: 35 Wolfson St. Tel Aviv
Tel: (03) 681-3459
You can find it all in this site of Tel Aviv: http://www.telavivguide.net/
Have fun...

in maximum situations it shows that the city is supplied on a mound of rubble (hill) of all the cities that lie lifeless below it. What occurred over the years is that as human beings got here in and out of the land (unlucky info of curses of Torah) they got here across websites that had left over development components from the destroyed cities that have been there earlier. so they geared up new cities using the old decrease stones. Tel Aviv even though isn't geared up on a hill of ruins.

The cheapest way to find a place to stay is search on yahoo for standby hotel Israel. The main hotel wholesalers will have a map function and you should be able to sort your results by cost.
Good luck and enjoy

What do you consider cheap? I strongly suggest to ask in this forum, people there know a lot about lodging and what to do.
