I've only been to Kenya and thought the safari was absolutely amazing (this was several years ago). Went with a company called Somak (they are still operating) and could not fault them. Driver was exceptional and went out of his way to make sure we got to see everything.

What I will say is that at the end of the trip we met up with some other groups that did part in Tanzania and it sounded like we got to see more (but that's probably more to do with the luck of the draw and how experienced your driver is).

What I would recommend is to try to take a really decent SLR camera with a dcecent zoom as you can get some amazing photos if you have good equipment.

Enjoy

Kenyans safaris are artificial (like chowing on plastic)
Tanzanians ones are more down to earth, more honest.
Kenya nowadays is much more violent than Tanzania.
both have the same to offer, but Tanzania is more wild.
Mombasa is burnt out comparing to Zanzibar or Pemba.
vic' lake is the same.

kenya is one of the best places for people who want to tour africa coz of its diverse cultules topography and a wide variety of game. for those interested in game viewing Masaai Mara would be the best place. It all depends on what you want to see, but the ngongoro crater is apparently the best place to see everything. According to most however the best (and most expensive) is Botswana.
