Egyptians do love French people and somehow their lifestyle though maybe few have traveled to France. Most of what Egyptians know about France and French people are from TV, internet or education. We Egyptians study French language and books at school. Egyptians are charactarized by mutual respect in which we respect who respects us and love who loves us. The political and financial relations between the two countries are vast and good. "Merci boucoup et bien toi !"

Actually the French have a long history in Egypt. In the 1800s they occupied a whole suburb (or area in those days).
We have the French to thank for much of the early research on Pharonic Egypt. Still France takes an active role in financing and sending teams to Egypt to restore temples ,tombs etc .Also to carry on further archaeological exploration.
Napoleon was an avid Egyptologist and contrary to myth was not responsible for letting his troops use the Sphinx for target practice.
That was done long before Napoleon ,by a fanatic local Sheik who felt that as an effigy of a god it was against Islam.
Every year France indirectly helps Egypt's economy with the growing amount of tourists that come to visit .
The average French tourist spends more money in Egypt than the British or Dutch!
France has played a part in Egypt's history. That can be seen by the number of schools that teach French as a second language and the amount of French words used in the commercial sector.
I think most Egyptians respect the French as much as any other visitor to their country. There are also quite a few Egyptians that have made a new life for themselves in France.

I'm Egyptian and I would like to go to France. I think it's a very nice country with very thoughtful people. Except that Egypt is an Islamic country and religious and sometimes french people tend to get "not religious", that's all. Thank for falling in love with Egypt.
Aurvoir et Merci.

Lol ahaha In my opinion the Egyptians adore France and it's people. My cousins (from Egypt) would rather go to France than England..
But really it doesn't matter what nationality your from, Egyptian people love any visitors no matter where you are from.
Everyone is welcome to come to Egypt, you will find the people will treat you with respect and kindness..

I hope you come and visit Egypt some time, I'm 100% sure you will love it! I can see that, you know some arabic which will be an extra bonus ya bint!!

I would say we generally like France, there are many French schools here where French is taught as a First language instead of English. From the political point of vieew, I would say the two countries are quite well in good terms with each other.

We consider France and french people as friends now. In politics I think the relation is in the best condition after 1956 war.
Although some people knows the history starting from Napoleon to the 1950's, but we love our present friends all the way they respect our history and tries to help us.

I love the French life-style. There are lots of cafes and the night life is great. However, I hate what they did to us. They occupied Egypt twice. Once from 1798 to 1801 in which Napoleone destroyed Sphinx'nose with a bomb and committed massacres against the poor Egyptian people. The other one was in 1956 when France , togther with England and Israel invaded Egypt because we nationalized the Suez Canal which already belonged to us.
The French people wouldn't apologize for that and they consider it something from the past. However, it is because of things like these that Egypt is a poor country and France is a rich one. This is why we , the grandchildren of the people who were invaded, have to look for jobs outside our country and maybe travel to the French, the grandchildren of the invaders.
I believe that France would invade us any time in the future if they thought it would be useful to their economy.

All what I can say is that we don't have anything against french people, maybe we had or still have some bad feelings about France after the hejab issue, but not for french people, and there is a fact that all Egyptian are so kind to foreigners in general even they are our employees we still tend to pamper them,so no worries and have a nice vacation :)

well, most of egyptians consider france and french people as their friends ,u know france has one of the largest muslim and arab community in Europe, also french policy is more independent rather than British policy in the area.

the effect of the french campaign , despite the colonial aims but had great scientific consequences,so relation between the 2 countries is continous from the french campain till films of Yousef chahine..

france is a synonymous for Libérté,égalité,étérnité...but these days u know the issue of hejab and the french refusal to apologize to Algerie for the occupation while Jacques Cheraq apologizes to Madagascar !!! this all makes people kinda confused...

for me wooow ,j'adore la france et la culture francophonique ,i know some day ill be in Monmartre street and stay for a while a la latin quartier (i cant wait :D)

when u talk about france ,the first to come in my mind is the icon Edith Piaf et Dalida

(u know these e with accents in Libérté,égalité,étérnité i pasted them from a lyric of la foule chanson de la rare Piaff)

u always welcomed in egypt

je te souhaite le plus et j'espere etre des amis

France is a wonderful exquisite place, that's for sure.
I ve never "known" someone from France so i can't judge the people generally. However, I hear from several people accusing the french of being little arrogant.
but i think you are ok. :-)
