I have had on my heart Afrifca missions for some time. I have looked on several websites trying to find someway to become involved, but the only type of involvement they offer is of a financial nature. I am not in the medical field, nor am I a teacher, but I do have a heart for the people. Does anyone know of any missions that already exist that I could contact to find out more information for involvment?

I know that World Vision is doing some AIDS work in Malawi, My doctor is going this summer with a team that are in all fields to follow up on a preliminary trip from last year. The need is great and the workers are few. I would also try the IMB website. they are well organized and have short and long term projects all over the world. Seek the Lord's guidance on this as mission work is no good if He does not go before you. He will open the right door. Be prepared for any answer He gives. If you are preparing yourself to go to Africa, then begin learning about the cultures and languages of the area you are interested in working in. Lay the groundwork for the mission and leave the rest to God. Praying for you!

If 10% of the average $907 that Americans spent on Christmas gifts went to children in need, 42 million children could be helped for an entire year according to statistics provided to me during an interview with World Vision.

This year, I conducted an experiment, and asked for donations to World Vision and Heifer.org instead of Christmas gifts. Many folks simply chose to give me gifts anyway, but many did make donations instead, resulting in $137 going to these charities.

I also have a website where I sell art to support these two fine Christian organizations. The next time you need art for your walls, please consider my website. My personal favorite of my own work is Stir the Groove3. Recently I have had several new artists donate to this cause also If you know of artists who might wish to join this charity model, please send them my way.
