Arrived in California today.
thinking about buying a home here
preferably in Los Angeles,Santa Monica, Hollywood hills, or West Hollywood.

$0-30 million range if any one can find anything nice

preferably at least 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms

and keep in mind we have a 1 month old baby.

This is horrible. Geauga Lake (located in Aurora, Ohio) has so much history, going back to 1888. Do you think that they'll change their mind? It's one of the best parts of my community, and they're removing everything but the waterpark part (and that'll go next).

My partner recently got a job in Japan, but the company does not give out double-rooms to couples unless they are both working for that company.

They suggested that he move down first, then find a apartment for both of us.

How difficult will it be for him to find one? He speaks -very- little Japanese (still learning). Would a landlord accept extra payment with rent and allow both of us to share the single room offered by the company?
