Middle of the night, lost on a deserted highway, with a large truck honking and blaring it's horns... O.O';

To all you commuters out there travelling from West London to Waterloo. Which mode of transport is most sardine-like? The Richmond-Waterloo train or the tube on the central line to Waterloo? I would be travelling from Acton to Waterloo to be in work for 9.00am. Or any other suggestions of ways to get to work without suffering commuter hell. Before you mention it I don't see myself going into work fresh of a bicycle! Hair, people!

My boyfriend and I were booked on a Carnival cruise that left Monday (feb 19th). Our flight was cancelled as soon as we checked in our luggage. We were able to get on another flight but that ended up being cancelled! We had everyone checking flights for us, but there were none available that would get us to New Orleans on time to catch the ship.

A group of us (three guys) are thinking of crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a rubber dinghy and writing down all of our thoughts and emotions in a journal. Has this been done before?? We have been studying weather, water patterns, tides, etc. and believe we can leave the Jersey shore in early June and reach the beaches of Normandy (just for symbolism) in late July. We have been scratching our heads thinking about other problems that might arise, like food, fresh water, etc. and have been working on all of these logistics. Does it sound "doable"?

...for 14 people. I think I've pretty much exhausted the search engines, so was just wondering if anyone had any personal recommendations. Also, if anyone has any ideas for cheap flights (they don't come out until September but there's no harm in thinking early lol)

Thanks for your help.

Hi there! I'll be staying at Bacoor for 4 days and I searched websites but couldn't find any hotels or pension houses. Are there any which you can recommend? I prefer it to be near a mall and quite cheap. Thanks!

I showed the taxi driver on the map with the name written in Chinese where I wanted to go , and he said : OKOK .

First , he drove extremely slowly , the roads were clear for once because of Chinese New Year. He dropped (wanted to)
about 500 m far of teh destination or trying to make me explain
again to make money, Since the taxidrivers here, like everywhere probably are so unfair and greedy, I "wanted him to teach a lesson and jumped out without paying. First he did not follow me
then he did when I did not expect it anyomore I had gone to
a CD/DVD shop and when I wanted to LEAVE the shop he stood
in my way. He smiled and showed me the bill. I said that he did not
know the place and that I was not going to pay, I was not open
to discuss more than that , the shopkeeper (whom I had heard speaking English) could have helped. I walked off.
The point is I am going to be here for another two months - to be honest I am afraid that this taxi driver will chase me ?

My grandmother was born in Kerry on 2/21883. She came to America, N.Y. when she was fourteen. I know that she married my grandfather also from Ireland named Patrick (Frank) O'Meara in America. Her name was Bessie Hickey and her fathers name was Frank Hickey. I am going a little crazy here with trying to find out when they were married (year) I have their birth dates only because I have searched and found their death certificates. Anyone from Ireland that is at all familiar with the name of her street or either of their last names would be a tremendous help to narrowing my search and perhaps visit where she was born when I come. I will be in Ireland this summer from June 18 to 28th. Thank you for you time and your interest.
