A group of us (three guys) are thinking of crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a rubber dinghy and writing down all of our thoughts and emotions in a journal. Has this been done before?? We have been studying weather, water patterns, tides, etc. and believe we can leave the Jersey shore in early June and reach the beaches of Normandy (just for symbolism) in late July. We have been scratching our heads thinking about other problems that might arise, like food, fresh water, etc. and have been working on all of these logistics. Does it sound "doable"?

I think you're an idiot! You will never be able to make it! Sharks and Storms will stop you. You won't be able to pack enough supplies! This is NOT doable!!!!

Not crazy, but could use a better vessel. If you have a death wish, use the rubber dinghy. Otherwise, get a more reliable boat, maybe something with a keel that will keep you from capsizing in rough waters. And get yourselves a generator, a satellite phone and GPS.

Well, to answer your question m8, yes it sounds a bit unsafe. With currents being unpredictable, how would you be guiding yourself in the appropriate direction? Secondly, and now I'm not sure about this but your departure dates should still be around hurricane season, not saying though you would have to worry about that up there, but you may get hit with bad weather from the effects of one further south of you. If you do go, take any medications with you that you may need or possibly may need, things for sunburn, etc...flare gun for distress call...man you may need a bigger boat..lol..Good Luck m8.

People have crossed the Atlantic ocean before, but they were pros and they almost drowned. Make sure you talk to an expert to prepare and bring an expert with you.
