Ready to book holiday to Sharm on 14th May for 7 nights through Thomsons. Will be staying at the Movenpick Casino resort on Naama Bay. Is it a good time to go in terms of weather and crowds? Has anyone stayed at this hotel? and Should I book the excursion to Cairo at the Hotel when Im there or should I do that now?? Lots of questions!! Thanks.

I used to work for this hotel,yes I think its a very good hotel in all aspects,about the excursions there is a dozen of them you can check with your tour guide or with the reception desk

May is very good to go there.
Movenpick is one of the oldest hotel there, but has a good service and food. Also the location is very good. I don't suggest you change it as you'll not stay inside the room for long time. The most important that you are in Neama bay. It's interesting.
If you don't prefer to book for Cairo through other tour operators, you better do it now. If you prefer to look for better prices and offers, then wait till you arrive there, but don't book in the street. There are many representatives with uniforms and tickets.
Wish you enjoy Sharm and all places around.

1-movenpick is a good resort ,and naema bay the most entertainment place in sharm,may is not the best time there but it will be less hotter than after in general it is OK.
book to Cairo form now and before going to sharm,because it will be hard to find a excursion to Cairo form sharm,but u can easily find from Cairo to sharm.

The only good thing about the movenpick is its location, the rooms are old and not that good, just next to neama bay, it has a great italien resturant though, I would recommned the marriot sea resort, good rooms , recently renewed and its a great hotel, although takes like 10 minutes or less walking to neama bay.

May is an excellent time for Sinai weather, however, there will be lots of tourists. Book your Cairo excursion there since there will be many other operators offering the same deal, doing it there will cost far less. I would shop around down the street etc., the hotel touts will tell you theirs is best. . . because they earn more in commission.
Go scuba diving while you are there!!!

timing is good, hotel is perfect, trips and execursion better u book there after u arrive.
