I'd like to take a solo vacation in late March or early April -- somewhere in the continental U.S., definitely someplace WARM! Ideally I'd like to be in or near a city. Probably I'd want a mix of "touristy" things and relaxation. I'm flexible on cost, but I'd like to keep things reasonable.

What do you all recommend?

I was wondering how people in Japan find Amazon Japan. Similar to Amazon.com in selection, price, reliability? (For books in English, or just in general.) I've always found ordering from Amazon pretty reliable, although once my dad ordered a book for my brother which was sent to Ohio instead of California.

I was mostly curious because I was speaking to a few Americans who are or were teaching English in Japan. One said that one thing he missed was books in English. Therefore, if he ever took a trip to a city with a foreign language bookstore, he bought a bunch of books in English. (Meaning he ended up reading some rather strange things here and there. )

I'm flying for the first time in a few days, and I know that you can only bring 3 ounce bottles of liquids/gels in a quart size ziploc bag in your carry-on, but can you bring any-sized/amount liquids/gels/aerosols in your CHECKED baggage? tsa.org (or whatever the site is) wasn't very clear on it. Thanks! :)

I live in the US, but i have a cello in Taiwan that I would like to bring back to the US, but I dont want to pay for an extra seat or check it in with the other luggages because it is fragile. Is there a way I can bring it back to the US without doing either of these things?

I am flying for the first time and I know there's ALOT of rules and stuff (i know the 3 oz, qt size bag stuff for liquids), but is there anything you suggest to make the flight more comfortable? I've heard gum, eyedrops, and a small pillow. It's 2 two hour flights back to back.
Also, I am going to Colorado (for the first time). I live in the Southeast so I'm not used to very cold weather and SNOW! hah! Anyway, anything you suggest I pack? Please help! :) Thanks!
