I have never heard of gunter - are you sure you have spelled it properly or heard it properly. There are many dialects and four different languages used in the UK - English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish Gaelic. Is it word from either Welsh or Scottish or Irish Gaelic? If so then you may have heard it wrongly or translitterated it wrongly.

i have never heard of it.. and i just googled it and couldn't find anything either....
there is a primary school called Gunter in Birmingham though..
