Hmm..travelling ALONE around Kuala Lumpur is sometimes not very advisable..its the best if you could bring somebody to go along with you..but for your info, Kuala Lumpur is actually a very safe city to do your own sightseeing and that will be including petaling street/the museum/the towers/mosque/masjid india and others..just be wary of pick pockets and strangers who stopped you to sell you things or asking directions from inside their car..
we never know when bad things gonna happen..so just be extra caution whenever you go, alright? but dont worry too much as you wont be enjoying your trip to Kuala Lumpur.. :-)

KL, as in any other city, is pretty safe during the day. Use public transport and move where there are many people. Never stand alone somewhere consulting a map or asking strangers. Decide where you want to go, how to go there (you can ask your hotel concierge) and walk purposefully straight to your destination. Even if you are lost, you can go to any stall and ask the proprietor while pretending to buy something, go to an info koisk, or approach a policeman.
Petaling Street opens late in the afternoon and evening. There are usually crowds but watch your walk to and from the place.
Carry your money in a small purse (try go without a handbag) which you can put into a pocket of your jeans or slacks (which is advisable if you need to run, which also goes for sensible shoes). Put loose change and smaller notes in other pockets so you don't have to take out your purse often.

I would say its safe enough so long as you travel in broad daylight with no fancy handbags or jewellery or loads of cash with you. Unfortunately it is true that locals get robbed even in broad daylight, just if you are unlucky enough! Best to go with someone and overall it is safe at the shopping malls and while in Petaling Street just clutch tightly any bag you have.

properly, i assume that is own techniques as properly, however the bus may be the quickest. particularly in case you get a large VIP coach from Pudaraya terminal directly to Singapore (which will take the Tuas border crossing). As others have already reported, the prepare will take you 8 hours and the bus around 5 or 6 hours. yet of direction the prepare has its own charm and has the ease which you would be able to stroll around, study a e book, etc. you need to to e book prepare tickets in develop, or you will possibly no longer have the means to get a seat (reckoning on what time and day you prefer to flow). And for bus tickets, attempt to sidestep happening Sunday's till attempt to be in Singapore on Sunday night. Sunday that is perplexing to get bus tickets and you're able to finally end up having to commute to JB first and from there taking a interior of sight bus in the process to Singapore.

DEFINITELY NO. I am Asian - Canadian and guess what, I was robbed at knife point in Kuala Lumpur. They took my money, credit cards and passport and the local police did nothing. They kept me believing that Malaysia is a safe place when it is not.

Generally not a problem during the normal hours of the day of course;but you should be aware of the occasional "snatch thief" - they can be a pedestrian, or on motorbikes (of course "grab-&-run" thievery can happen anywhere) and not just the places mentioned. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just enjoy KL!!

Should be all right but do watch out for pickpockets & snatch thieves. Better still, don't bring out your handbag.
Hope you have an enjoyable time in KL.
