I'd like to take a solo vacation in late March or early April -- somewhere in the continental U.S., definitely someplace WARM! Ideally I'd like to be in or near a city. Probably I'd want a mix of "touristy" things and relaxation. I'm flexible on cost, but I'd like to keep things reasonable.

What do you all recommend?

The best place that fits what you're asking for is San Diego, California. It has beaches and is very laid back unlike L.A. It's also filled with tourist attractions. It has to be one of my favorite places in the world. If you do go, I suggest going to Seaport Village. It has many shops and restaurants. Many times when I'm in San Diego, I just go there to walk because it's on the San Diego Bay. I hope you enjoy you're trip wherever you end up going.
