I've worn belts with metal, all of my mum's metallic necklaces at one time (and that's like 20 of them), and many other metallic things just to see what the threshold is for the metal detectors, and I've never been wanded for as much as I travel. I've even flown when I had a mouthfull of metal (braces) when I was younger... I've just been very unlucky. What are some more metallic things that I could wear that are legal? I just love embarassing myself in front of a bunch of people that I will never see again and keeping the airport security on their toes!

...can I feign having difficulties getting them back on, laced up, etc. and beg for help from the security? Or should I put something dreadfully stinky (like moldy bread or something) in my shoes so that when I have to take them off, they'll have to deal with an offensive odor?

(I know most airports don't require this anymore...they have something you can put your feet on without having to take them off, and many of them don't even do this, but I'm asking just in case.)

If I act like I'm sleeping during the flight, perhaps she will be too kind to wake me up, and then she'll have to step over my feet each time she wanders past. Muah ha ha...wouldn't it serve her right for refusing my demand for tranquilizers?

I'm going to Orlando in 2 weeks and am flying AirTran (haven't been on a plane in 10 years) and was wondering if anyone has flown it and how it is? Thanks!

I'm not afraid to fly...quite the contrary, but I've flown so many times that it gets boring. I can think of two things that are better to do on long flights: hit on the air hostess or sleep....and if the air hostess isn't attractive, I'd like the extra help in falling asleep and staying asleep...darn turbulence always wakes me up!

We are planning a trip to New York, 2-3 days, and are looking for affordable lodging. We're thinking about $150/night. We don't what to stay in a dump, but the place doesn't have to be the Waldorf, either. I'm checking the internet sites for pricing---anyone stay there rececently and have any feedback on where they stayed? Positive and negative feedback is most welcome. THANKS!

Business trip to Austin, TX next week with meetings on Tue and Thu (Wed was cancelled). Since I've now got a free day in a city I haven't visited in 15 years, what should I do/see/eat while there?

Russia is the largest country in the world by common knowledge,
and it extends from Europe as far as Alaska, but the country location appears to be in Asia and this really confuses me a lot because Russians are European-looking not Asian-looking.
