...can I feign having difficulties getting them back on, laced up, etc. and beg for help from the security? Or should I put something dreadfully stinky (like moldy bread or something) in my shoes so that when I have to take them off, they'll have to deal with an offensive odor?

(I know most airports don't require this anymore...they have something you can put your feet on without having to take them off, and many of them don't even do this, but I'm asking just in case.)

If you truthfully don't like taking your shoes off don't, as long as they don't alarm all they'll do is take a swab sample of your shoe. Why is it that so many people want to be so offensive, how would you like it if it was you that worked for TSA and had to put up with the nasty odors that people don't intentionally do? Oh yea TSA can't do a cavity search, love to know where people got that one.

Ya know, you don't have to go through the metal detector. There are private pat down areas where one can be screened. People with pacemakers can't go through the metal detectors. Other folks with hip replacements or other metal bits and pieces will always set off the detector. The lack of foresight is with the idiots in the TSA. As a result of their ineptitude, taxpayers like us will be paying for whatever settlement the ensuing lawsuit brings. The TSA WILL lose this one in court.

Ok that guy who said everyone likes it is not true i don't. it's inconvinent for me and i don't like it so i think making your shoe stinky would be very funny but you must realize that if you do you are at risk for making your feet actually stink really bad. It's up to you but i guess trying it one time would be funny and having your feet stink for a day wouldn't be to bad. lol
You say you've traveled a lot but just a question have you ever hooked up with someone in the bathroom? Hey could ask that question. lol

Why don't you just accept that you might have to take your shoes off. Just deal with it. Don't do the moldy bread thing, The security people are just doing their job.

I agree the system is weird but they are just doing a job. The stinky feet would just harm you and everyone else. You can pester security but they can always make u do worse things.

I wouldn't complain too much. I'd rather take my shoes off and pass through the detector easily rather than cause a scene and have them harrass you in return. Just suck it up. Wear a pair of shoes that are easy to get on/off and take them off as told.

My advice would be to squash around in feces for 30 minutes then rinse your toes in Hydrochloric Acid. This should teach them not to ask you to take off your shoes.

Deal w/ it. It not the security screeners wake up going "Sweet, I get to deal w/ stank *** feet all day." They doing it because they have, not because they want to.
