If you love the beach and the warm weather, themeparks, swimming, scenery places, and have a good time with your child ... it would be the Gold Coast because it has all the theme parks and the beach, its got the affordable hotels and they are really nice to spend your honeymoon, there are alot of hotels that are located next to the beach, there you could see the whole view of the beach, blue sea and the sunrise in the morning .... and the great barrier reef if you like to spend your honeymoon in the coral reef and snorkelling... In the state of Queensland there is so much to see and to enjoy... try out these websites

New Zealand is also great, unique beautiful place to spend because its alot different to Australia because thats where Im from but i guess you could always come back for more adventures

Queensland is great, and particularly the Whitsunday Islands. Stunning, spectacular and unique. But we do get tropical cyclones in summer, so check out the weather forecasts.

Depending on what you're looking for, both the Sunshine and Gold Coasts are lovely at that time of year, but busy due to school holidays so be sure to book early. Both areas are close to Brisbane (and the airport), but far enough away to see the real Australia.

The north coast of New South Wales is also fantastic that time of year, but probably best suited to a driving holiday. Top picks of the area are Yamba, Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay.

For a real hot spot holiday Sydney is a very concentrated look at Australia, though you do have to get out of the city to really see our country.

The Northern Territory is an amazing place for an Australian Adventure, but December is not the ideal time to go there, due to the wet season, cyclones and the oppressive heat. But definitely worth a look if you come during the dry season (our winter).

Hope something here appeals to you. Enjoy our gorgeous country.

I cant tell you the best place for your family, but I can tell you where not to go.. the ACT, its a dump, there isn't anything really attractive about the place and I wouldn't take a child there unless you want it bored out of its brain. The ACT is the most unromantic state in Australia.
