Most cruise lines charge a 10.00 per person a day gratuities on the average...
if you are on a 7 day cruise and there are 2 of you, your gratuities will be around 140.00 total for those 7 days. Your shore excursions of course are extra. OR in some ports it is totally safe to go on your own and explore...need to ask your travel agent which ports those are, this will save you money. Anything you buy on ship will be charged to your room, at the end of the cruise you have the option of keeping it on your credit card or paying cash. Casino, pictures, spas, drinks, (except tea-water-and juices that you go get yourself) and some select specialty restaurants are also extra. If you are flying, anyone who handles your luggage it is 1.00 per bag per time they handle. If 2 people are traveling, the bus or cab driver loads your luggage and unloads your luggage and you have 2 pieces of luggage, it is 4.00. so take some ones with you.

If you call for room service, tip them also, a couple dollars. Take plenty of ones with you.
Drinks are 4-10 dollars, a piece. Alittle hint: when you are laying by the pool and they come around with the umbrella drinks in one of those souvenier cups, buying one is fine, but after that you can order the same special for about 3.00 cheaper in a regular glass.

Royal Caribbean allows one bottle of champaigne or wine for personal use when boarding ship, it needs to be in your checked luggage. They qualify that as a celebration for taking a cruise.

When you buy alcohol on or off ship, they will keep it until your last night. They want you to buy from the bars...

people have tried to sneak in other alcohol and have gotten it confiscated...alittle hint though...if you try to bring it on board ship, and succeed, you will be spending most of your time going back and forth to the room to "fill-er-up" and not be able to actually enjoy your cruise.
If you decide to do this, becareful and not have it break in your suitcase and get all over your clothes, if you are flying, the way the airports treat the luggage, it COULD break.

hope this is helpful to you..enjoy yourself...
Rhonda

P.S. Just like some one else said...phone calls from the ship is extra...Even if you pick up the phone and try to call home, the phone only rings and no one answers...you WILL be charged for that call. The ships are linked through satelites and when you pick that phone up to dial, the ship is being charged, therefore you will be charged...

Drinks will range in cost from about $4 to $12 depending on what you order. And that does include the gratuity, you can always give more if you like.

Your not supposed to bring your own alcohol onboard. But, different Royal Caribbean ships do have diffrent rules, depending on where they are sailing. You may consider calling and asking if you are allowed. Some people sneak some on. If you buy alcohol while at port, they will keep it in storage until you get off. Some cruise lines will charge a "corking" fee if your bring your own drinks to dinner, it is usually like $15 to $20.

Just remember, it is put onto your oboard charge account (anything onboard is) You can either pay that with cash or credit card. But, a lot of people don't pay attention to how much they spend and are a little shocked when they look at their charges. Just try to keep a running total going in your head so you aren't surprised. Putting cash on the card can help you from spending too much.

As far as any other expenses, pretty much everything is included. Obviously you know alcohol and shore excursions aren't. You also have internet access that is extra, any spa treatments you may get, any shopping, sometimes there are extra snacks or drinks you can purchase before shows and things, that is not included. Speciality drinks and soda is not included with Royal Caribbean (you can buy a soda fountain package) Anything you purchase in port is extra, room service tips are extra, phone calls, laundry services, if you buy Royal Caribbeans pictures and the gratuity for your waiters if you haven't already paid them.

It really isn't hard to go on a cruise spending no more than what you have already paid, but it is also easy to spend a lot more. Just keep in your head how much you have spent and ask for a printout if you need it.

Hope this helps!

Drinks are $5-$10. You have a card that you charge them to (it's also your room key) and then you cash out at the end of the cruise. If you cant keep track like the person above, then you just aren't paying attention. It's easy. You get a receipt each time you buy something. Tip is included. Then, in your cabin, you can view your charges via your TV. Nothing has to surprise you if you simply are aware of things.

Most food is free if you eat in their regular restaurants. Sodas, alcohol, and the reservations restaurants are an extra charge. You need to allow for your gratuities, however. You tip your room steward, your server, the server's assistant, and anyone else who took care of you (concierge lounge host, dining room manager, etc). These can add up quickly, so be ready for them. Even if you try to avoid them by only eating at the buffet, you should still leave a general tip for the people who cleaned your table, brought you things, etc.

Some ports are away from the main city or shopping area, so you'll have to take a water taxi or a cab to get to them. I think that St. Maartin has a water taxi that you need to use, Cabo & St. Thomas may need a regular taxi, and I'm sure there are other ones.

Good luck & have fun!

It depends if you get a 'souvenir' glass or something with it. Most drinks vary from $4.95-$6.95 without a keepsake glass. If you want the glass to keep (who doesn't want at least a couple!) you are looking at $7-$10. You also are supposed to tip on the tabs. You can purchase duty free liquor on board, but you do not get the bottles until the night before you leave. That is how they get you to purchase those high priced drinks.

One idea if you like wine: My hubby and I love white wine, so we decided to purchase a bottle on the first night in the formal dining room. We each only wanted a glass with dinner, so the waiters will keep it stored and chilled for you each night you dine. I found this to be really convienient and a good way to ration ourselves.

Sometimes they offer drink specials of the day, which will come in the keepsake glass and are around $5. We did drink a lot of those, as they all had exotic names and were tasty. You will be cruisin' on ships that use REAL fruit juice and high-end liquors... live it up & enjoy!

Look into the unspoken expenses.
The cocktails are extremely high I'm talking $8-$10 and they add a gratuity on each drink in the amount of 15% to 18% so you feel like you should tip and you already have. We went with 8 people and 2 of them were underage and they charged us $50 per person to clean out cabin. After our first night there our bar tab was $898.00 because you don't pay cash it all goes to your credit card so it is hard to keep track of what is being spent. Take your own bottle of liquor and save some money.

We just came back from a RC trip on the Navigator of the Seas. Our bar bill for 2 adults over the course of the week was about $300, with drinks in the $7 to $10 range. We bought the unlimited soda deal (about $42 per person) so those were covered.

in case you "love" Disney do Disney. in case you do not "love" Disney do yet another cruise line. The Disney Cruise is determined up for Disney fans, you'll have a extra constructive cruise some the position else in case you do not desire Disney 24/7.

depending on what you order, the prices are similar to most bars & restaurants... 5 to 10 bucks each.

you can buy duty free booze and take to your cabin if you want. that will be cheaper in the long run.
