i recently bouhgt a burton cruzer 135 on ebay, it was used a couple times, so pretty good condition, however the surface isn't smooth and shiny (like a layer of like, plastic/acrylic) on top... like the burton punch 138 i used back then. or other snowboards i've seen

instead it was sorta rough and papery?
it's already used...so there anything i can do about it? like am i supposed to put a layer of protection on it? like hot wax or whatever?

or is it like a lost case?
thanks

there are so many different options, brands, and boards made of different materials of different sizes, categories, and length out there that i dont really know where to start.

im 5'9 and 160 pounds. im lookin for a board that i can use for a while without having to upgrade to a better one. i dont really plan on doin tricks or anything anytime soon so it wouldnt have to be anything too special.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I'm fifteen, and there's a rink nearby my place. At around 6, my father brought us [the kids] to the rink. He had been a skater.

I had been fascinated with skating but my parents rejected, citing that it's dangerous.
Since 11 I had been going to the rink occasionally and on my birthday. But the shocking thing is that I still cannot skate. Actually I believe I can, but I don't know how to fall and stop. Afraid of breaking bones, you see.

This year on my birthday my wrist suffered the impact and the bones crushed together. My mother did not want me to skate anymore.

My father offered to teach me. I accepted. I had been very embarrassed as I couldn't skate. After watching the Winter Olympics, I know I want to skate and learnt that rentals are horrible. I saved up to buy skates but I am afraid that it's only an impulse.

I feel that I really want to learn. What do I do? Do I sign up for a course or let my father teach or??? Am I too old? I'm not going pro tho.

I've started doing axels but I just don't seem to get the rotation - I manage to do half a rotation AT MOST. It's really annoying because I get the footwork right and I can do it off ice...
Also, if anyone has any camel/parallel spin tips and pointers I'd be very grateful because I can only do one revolution and it's TERRIBLY wonky.
Last but not least - I used to be able to do teapots but I just can't do it anymore. I'd love to be able to do sit spins but I wonder what exercise you need to do to strenghen your legs to be able to do it freely.
Thanks!

ok i'm 14 170 pnds. about 5'8" and i use h.i.t twice a week per body part. however i do this along with high volume and high frequency. this is the opposite of what h.i.t is supposed to be. however i've seen good results with this and have continued to do so. another thing for me is the gym is like a second home if i'm not training i'm wanting too. the question is. is h.i.t. gonna stop giving the results it has or will this continue?

Maybe I don't understand it that well. i sort of get the point but why is it soooo boring? Tennis and golf have more acton. LOOK...only 2 questions about curling. Maybe they should wear skimpier outfits or have a fight once in a while. When it was on the olympics...I kept thinking it was a commercial for something, then I stayed on the channel and realized it was actually a sport. Needs to be more interesting if you ask me.
