Please no generic answers like, "can support the weight of a very heavy person." I have a friend who would love to snow tube with me, but he's a big guy...don't want to take him and find out it won't support his weight. I already called the tubing parks...they're clueless. Help please?!

I've never done skiing nor snowboarding before. It is my first time trying, and i was wondering what should i do?

I want something less challenging, and at which is easy to pick up and learn.

Strap-in or ratchet bindings cause a great deal of discomfort to me while boarding. In fact, it is so great that I stopped boarding mid-trip to get step-ins. The location of straps cause my foot to loose all feeling within 10-15 minutes of being strapped in because all the weight is concentrated on two spots on my foot. The step-in does not since it distributes the weight over the entire top of the foot/ankle/shin. I have this same problem with roller blades.

I am looking to replace my current step-in boots since they are too large for my feet and wanted to see what over all picture is for the step-in binding/boot market.

I have not tried "flows" or something "flow"-like so I am open to the idea of them.

I've been boarding for 4 years.

Another beginner here... I haven't been able to hit the slopes for about two years, and so my board's been sitting in my closet. After recent inspection, I noticed that my edges are all rusty and the the screws attaching my bindings to my board have also become somewhat rusty. Is there anything I should do about this? Or will it be okay to just tighten the screws and go with it?

I have a bit of a problem. I want to go skiing today but i don't have a ride to the mountain. My other option is to take transit to the mountain. I can't find a bag big enough to hold my boots so I am wondering if its okay if I wear the boots outside on the concrete and stuff.

Alright this isn't a question about how to wax skis. But rather, I purchased a pair of used skis today from a consignment store and I am wondering whether i need them waxed or not. Are there any visual signs that I can look for? The bottom of skis is black. Please help me out as I am pretty new to this.

I hit a rock :( The dent is about the size of your pinky nail, but its on the sidewall. all of the sheets of fibergalss where mushed and they seemed to separate from one another.i took some pliers and bent them back together and it seems to be alright. the board was fairly expensive and brand new. i just wanted to know if this separation will escalate over time or if i should get it checked

I have a pair of Lange X09's right now. I've had them for quite a while. I think it's about time to upgrade. What should I look for when buying new boots. There are sooo many to chose from. Will I get a boot that is the same quality if I spend $200 for a pair that is on sale opposed to a $700 pair.

What makes each board type and which one has better handling, speed, easier to carve with (etc.)? I like to just ride down the slopes but i like to hit the terrain every now and then so which would be a better type for me?

However, I live in an area where the closest place to snowboard is over two hours away, which means I can't really snowboard near as much as I want, or need to. I'm only 16, and I've only been snowboarding once, but I loved it and I've always wanted to do it.

I'm really looking for advice from experienced riders. I think I could be great. I went to an area with a bunch of other first-timers, I didn't take any lessons, and I did much better than all the other first-timers. It just feels natural to me.

I'm going to college soon, so that could really open up my options. What areas would you recommend for me? I can get into most schools, so as long as it isn't Ivy League, it's not a problem.

Also, are any of you sponsored? If so, how long did that take?

I'm really serious about snowboarding, so I really need some help. Thanks!

I am 5'10" and weigh about 135lbs. I am an experienced rider (10 years) and i need a new board. I am on ski patrol and for the things that i do I need to be able to carve turns and hold the edge all the way through the turn especially in icy conditions. I generally ride on pretty icy or sometimes groomed, moguled, or glades trails. I currently ride an Avalanche 150 prop board but continue to be told that i need a more light weight, flexible board, maybe longer board. Is there a specific board anyone could suggest to me or a better idea on a more flexible board taking into consideration what i must do?
