I've been doing a little online browsing and have come across a website that sells ski gloves and snowboard gloves. What, if anything, is the difference?

They pretty much look to be the same to me...

For the record, I ski and board, so would one type be better or more versatile than the other?

I am, 6'2" 215lbs (188 cm, 97.5kg). I am a very aggressive, and will be spending my time on advanced slopes and some bowls (out west USA). I will be on both groomed and ungroomed tracks. I am not the wealthiest of persons, so a pair that would last more than a season would be better, and I have no problem using last years' equipment (new). Thanks for any help!

Looking for great cross-country skiing on groomed trails in North America, preferably Western US/Canada. We've been to Silver Star Mtn in BC which we liked alot, and have been many times to Royal Gorge and Tahoe-Donner X-country. Looking for a place with lodging close by, hopefully skiably close. Anybody have some recommendations? Thanks!

Last night i had my lesson with my coach. Its not like i wasn't trying, i was. Nothing was working for me in jumps or spins, my coach said she has seen me do the spin alot better. The spirals and footwork steps where okay. Its the 1st time i have had my lesson on that day, and the 1st time i have been to the session it was in, will it just be a case of getting used to going then insted of when it was. Is it just me who gets skates like this in thier lessons? (Bad days) i feel really bad about it.

im trying to mount the bindings but the screws seem to be too short. i would think there would be no such problems since both are ride brand. do i just take it all to a local shop and have them install it?

I know absolutely nothing about buying skis...what the numbers mean, what brands are good, etc. I am a 14 year old girl, 5' 4" and slim. I ski blue squares and am just starting black diamonds. I will be skiing at least 5 times this year. Lots of skis I saw online say things like "great for all kinds of terrain!" but i only go on the groomed, chair-lift-accesible slopes. I never go to explore the mountain or anything like that. I am only interested in recreational skiing, and i want my skis to last for as long as possible. Oh, and I also need to buy bindings and boots. My feet are probably done growing, but nto definitely. What kinds of skis/boots/bindings should I look for? Any tips are appreciated!!

P.S.- I can't spend too much money, so no super-expensive brands.

I'm not looking for brand recommendations. I'm looking for an explanation of the different ski types. For example, do I get soft or stiff flex? long or short skis? shaped or straight? I am an intermediate skier about 6 ft. 165 lbs. I like smooth ski runs (NOT moguls) . Thanks!

I just purchased brand new ski boots that were very carefully fitted to me. I haven't skied in two years, so I am a little out of shape, but I don't remember skiing being this painful. I was in agony going down the hill, and then going up in the lift, my feet were throbbing and tingling... Is that normal for a combination of not skiing for two years and new boots?

I have a friend that has the "Camelbak Thermal Control kit" and it doesn't work at all. I find that even when blowing the water back into the reservoir, there's still enough water that stays in the valve to freeze solid. Besides taking a drink every 30 seconds, what are some some tips to keep the water in the hose/ mouthpiece from freezing? Also, would anyone here recommend just bringing a water bottle in a backpack?

My family and I want to take a ski trip out to either the Denver area or the Salt Lake City area. We have 4 people in our family, and we can't seem to get the price under $1000. We need to buy plane tickets from Chicago and lift tickets, which are pushing us above $1000. We are looking to go around Feburary or January. If you know of any good deals out there then please tell me! Thanks!!!
