i am also going to a wear a thermal and a thin sweater inside, the jacket is not covering my butt or anything, is this warm enough?

it doesn't really matter how warm it is as long as it is waterproof and long enough to cover your butt since you sit on your butt quite a bit, layering will keep you warmer plus you don't want to wear a giant coat and not be able to move around

That sounds like a puffy jacket. I'd say if the outer shell is tough enough not to rip if you fall and slide down some frozen granular and it's waterproof, it's ok.

Yes, I would assume so. Make sure that the bottom fits snug around the waist and is not too long.
