when you go to switch back to normal, all your weight is essentially going to be on your turning leg (usually your right leg). You are basiclaly making a step with that leg. Disengage the other leg (left leg) by slightly lifting it up to get your weight off of it.

With very lots of warning, and stability. to verify how, start up with an uphill christy, until eventually your skiis slide backwards then flow to a herring bone place and flatten your edges sufficient which you're actually in a opposite wedge. you could then make a turn in the two course as you may with any wedge turn. different workouts, contain a falling leaf and pivot slips. once you're experienced at those, your stability and part administration will help you ski backwards with self belief and capability.

This sounds like one ski edge is still engaged in the snow and you need to move that knee to a neutral position. Try the maneuver in the other direction a few time and check if you are also in a wedge position from the side. Good turns. Jim.

Kind of lean back, plant a pivot pole, and spin. Kind of hop, but don't come off the ground. You just need to shift your weight.

It's hard to explain, but it's really easy to do. Just practice. Eventually you won't have to plant a pole.
