Thanks

The jacket is flannel fabric with what I think is some type of nylon fabric on the lower part of the back to sit on and not get wet. It has the Burton name and states "established 1977" with a picture of a snowboarder with a classic board with the tail "v".

i'm going snowboarding with my friend today, i'm not very good and i've never been on the tow rope (the place i've gone to had those carpet things that you stand on) and i have no idea how to use one! what is the best way to get on and up one without falling? i'm goofy footed, not sure if that matters

The bindings are flow nxt fs and the screw is one of the ones that connects the padded part of the highback to the lower section. The bindings have never been used (christmas present) and were only attatched to the board once (before I noticed). I got them from SportStop.com so ican't take them back to the shop. I live in belgium but got them shipped to the US when I was out there (dont have immediate plans to go back)

I was never really good with skateboards so should I stick to skiing instead? Snowboarding looks awesome though.

I have purchased a pair of used very long thin set of used skis and have trouble controlling them. Should I continue to struggle with hopes of improving or trade the long thin skis for a short pair with more control?

Hey All, Thanks for the help. I just bought a 159 Wide Burton Custom X, Im just a litle over 6'1 and weigh between 170-175. I like to ride all over, park, basic terrain, backcountry etc. Basically all mountain. I'm a little worried its a little short, however the next step up is a 164 Wide. The custom X is a pretty stiff board and I dont weigh alot, do you think I made the right choice? Would really appreciate the help. By the way, im riding it with Cartel bindings and burton Hal boots. Thanks

I ripped it up for a couple of hours one day. Snow was softer than I expected. I thought it would be icy and crusty. It was surprisingly and pleasantly rippable. Loved it!

It was really weird to walk in from 110 degrees to 20. It felt awesome!

I'm going skiing on Thursday 12/27. For the 1st time. I'm ONLY going for 1 day so i don't wanna buy anything expensive . The weather is going to be ABOUT 40-45 DEGREES. So what should i wear? I'm thinking about buying ski pants ( CHEAP ONES.) So far heres what i have:
- Hat, Earmuffs, A Puffy Jacket?, Gloves, Mittens, Extra sweat pants, Tank on the inside, A long sleeved shirt, and a hoodie, Socks, an extra pair of socks.
~~What do you suggest to wear? & as for ski pants, where to but them at? NO ONLINE STORES. ( I'm only 14 if that helps anything.) THANKS !

So we're both in our early twenties and haven't skiied since we were really young. We live in Boston but are willing to do up to a 4-5 hour drive. We want a place that's good for beginners, a smaller more intimate setting, and has the potential to be kind of a nice romantic weekend getaway. Does anyone know of any good places in the area that fit that description? Also, about how much would we end up spending on renting equipment, etc? Is it a big hassle?

Thanks!

I am looking for silk because it is better for the skin. But I know polyester can be warmer for avid skiers. Should silk do it? Is polyester that much better?

I have a pair of fairly old boots and I am looking to upgrade, but I know very little about boots. I was looking at the Dalbello Aerro 50's (found here: http://www.buckeyesportscenter.com/products.jsp?criteria=boots,mens&label=Mens%20Ski%20Boots )but I noticed in the description of the boots it said for beginner to intermediate skiers, is that just a suggestions or should I spend the extra $200+ to get the boots that say they are for advanced skiers? Any help or personal experiance suggestions?
