Im going to steamboat on the 27th and its getting tons of snow each day, but on the website it says most of the Black diamond runs are closed, and all of the double black diamond runs are closed! Why is this? mostly all of the other resorts runs are all opened, wats going on with steamboat?

this is just a case of extreme snow conditions and avalanche danger. As the snow tapers off the various runs will be opened. they are trying to protect the client and indeed with insurance laws the way they are now they have little choice. Most mountains with good steeps have this happen. Some have better avalanche control people than others. but... Mammoth, Snowbird, Whistler all have days when the good stuff is closed due to conditions!
Hang in there. Sooner or later it will open!
