There is no one company that stands out as the best, there are numerous good companys out there that make very good snowboards. I could list the usual corparate companys such as Burton, Forum, K2 etc which do all make very good boards but i'll recomend some other companys that get less of a mention but are just as good as the corparate giants.
Freestyle - Bataleon, Capita, Nitro, Signal, Lib Tech, Apo, Rome, Atomic, Option.
Freeride - Palmer, Rossignol, Nidecker, Nitro, Arbor, Option, Atomic.
Its better to look at models rather than brands when buying a board, most of the brands listed above will have a board that suits you and your style and level of riding but they will also have boards that will be totally unsuitable for you and that you will find a nightmare to ride. Hope this helps, Good luck with the riding.

There are a dozen great snowboard manufacturers - there isn't one that is the best for every type of riding. It really depends what kind of riding you are doing - Freestyle (park) or Freeride (runs / powder) - what manufacturer and model of board will work the best for you.
Freestyle - Forum, Gnu, Lib Tech, K2 ...
Freeride - Ride, K2, Burton ...

Well I had a roxy board and it was ok. Burton makes good boards but it really depends on your preferance of riding.

Personally i love buton, and K2. It really depends on how good you are and if you go off rails and jumps.
