I was thinking clothes or equipment but not a board.

Your right to not go for a board as theres a high chance you wouldent get the right one for your boyfriend, i would avoid getting bindings or boots also. Anything else snowboard related will be ok for jackets and pants try brands like Westbeach, Bonfire, Quicksilver, Special Blend, Foursquare, Helly Hansen, Burton, 686, Analog. For Goggles try brands like Oakley, Spy, Dragon, Von Zipper, Anon, Adidas, Scott, Electric, Smith. For helmets try Protec, Smith, Red, Giro, Dianese. For Backpacks try Dakine, RipCurl, O Neill, Oakley, Burton. For Gloves try Dakine, Burton, Level, Grenade. Hope this helps good luck.
