I am not suprised that you are having trouble with snow skiing if you have been boarding for a while. When I first started I had all kinds of trouble because I was a surfer and the turning posture is completely different between the two sports. When surfing or boarding you turn your upper body to begin your turn and pull your lower bod along. with skiing its the opposite. Your upper body shoud be squared to down hill and your turning is supposed to be all in the lower body, knees, ankles and legs.
You will do much better on a snow board. Snow boarding has a much smaller learning curve and you can be up and having fun in just a couple of days. Go for it!!!

No its totally different the when skateboarding you keep your weight central wheres with snowboarding you generally keep your weight on your front foot. You should try snowboarding im sure you will enjoy it, Good Luck.
