I've never done skiing nor snowboarding before. It is my first time trying, and i was wondering what should i do?

I want something less challenging, and at which is easy to pick up and learn.

snowboarding! It's more fun. Though skiing may be easier to learn, snowboarding is more rewarding in the long run.

Definitely skiing...
I had the same problem, and snowboarding was too hard to learn. Here are the advantages of skiing:
1. Easy to get on a chairlift without taking off your boots from your binding like you need to do with a snowboard.
2. You have more control; you can still ski on one ski.
3. When trying to hike across a catwalk or to the lift line, you can skate or use ski poles as opposed to having to push off with your foot.
4. You can go much faster
5. More fun, and snowboarders have a stereotype of being annoying and terrain park guys.
6. Easier to learn overall

I am a died in the wool SKIER. That said: I know lots of skiers that have become snow boarders and don't know a single boarder that has become a skier. The fact of the matter is that Snow boarding has a much easier learning curve and can actually help you get into chutes and situations that are impossible on skis. Now you have to remember that skiing was not invented as a sport like snow boarding. Skiing started as a mode of transportation. Boarding is strictly for down hill recreation. Apples and oranges here. Both are a blast and realistically, Why not be both a skier and a boarder. Isn't that the best of both worlds?

Skiing is fun, but it's only more fun when you know how to do it. I had skiing instructors for a couple of years teaching me how to ski before I got anywhere near good.

On the other hand, I was able to self teach myself how to snowboard. You will fall a lot, but once you get the hang of it (might take a couple of days unless you're experienced in something like skateboarding) you should be good to go. For snowboarding, your control is all on the front of the board. Try not to lean on the back too much. Have fun! :D

skiing can get you killed, but i have heard of way fewer people dying in a snowboarding accident, usually they die driving back to their cabin since theyre higher than a kite
