go to zumiez and check out the alibi sicter. they are on sale right now and you can get a great board, boots, and bindings all for $299. it is an amaaaaaazing deal on a great entry level board. and its a real snowboard with nice boots and bindings, not one of the crappy reject sports authority ones your mom will probably try to make you buy.

one thing i want to tell you is that you can get a board a little too big for you and you will still be able to ride comfortably... but whatever you do, DO NOT buy your boots too big. it is not safe. and you will not have a very good time. the reason is that your heel will not fit snugly in the heel cup of the boot, and you will lose precious energy on your toeside edge because you will constantly be slipping around. it could cause you to take a nasty fall or break your leg! so buy boots that fit, and the biggest bindings you boot will allow- if you get decent bindings, they will be very adjustable and will be able to grow with you for a few years- be sure to ask the salesperson what is adjustable on the bindings, and how big of a boot they will allow!

I just got my son a brand new 2005 Ride Impact 143 for $115 at Sports Authority - a previous season clearance model. It is a great board and he really likes it - I sized it a little big for him so that he can grow into it. That size of board is the biggest in the kids models so they are a little hard to find.

Good Luck
