Skiiing is easier to learn but a lot harder to become good at. Snowboarding is harder to learn but a lot easier to become good. You can spend all season trying to acomplish tasking runs on skii's but you could be hitting 15 foot kickers and carving deep powder by the end of a season on a snowboard.

It's much of a personal preference on the choice of sports. I found that you can do much more with skiing. Just like what the guy above me mentioned. Some says that Snowboarding is more about "style" and "fashion" thing.
Many people has ski across the North and South poles. But you haven't heard of anyone snowboard across them ;p

I agree with the guy above me except that skis are so much better. I'm a big mountain and freetyle rider and there are so many more oppurtunities for skiing than snowboarding. Like glades and tree lines are harder on boards.

I think what ever you can afford will do, you can do a lot with both, but if you get good the money is in Snowboarding.

snowboarding has a lot more freestyle to it
and if you like to be a little more extreme then its better for
i also learned how to snowboard way quicker then i learned how to ski
