I've started doing axels but I just don't seem to get the rotation - I manage to do half a rotation AT MOST. It's really annoying because I get the footwork right and I can do it off ice...
Also, if anyone has any camel/parallel spin tips and pointers I'd be very grateful because I can only do one revolution and it's TERRIBLY wonky.
Last but not least - I used to be able to do teapots but I just can't do it anymore. I'd love to be able to do sit spins but I wonder what exercise you need to do to strenghen your legs to be able to do it freely.
Thanks!

WELL!
I have been through a lot of that! I have finally my axel and double Salwcow consistent and is working on the double Toeloop
Tips on Axel... Even though this doesn't sound like much, you absoultly cannot be afraid, especially if you can only do half a rotation. I wasted half a year being afraid of it... If you can do it on the floor, it means you can do it, but of course its different on the ice. Don't be afraid, go for it!
Camel... Well, I need to know... are you wobbling like onto your toe pick? acually, no matter the problem, you gotta watch your entry. if your arm lingers infront of you too long in the entry, it really throws you off. (Yes, even the smallest things like that affects your spinning)
I'm sorry, I dont do Teapots... But sit spins? do those shoot the ducks on the ice. they help! and dont worry! if you fall, it doesnt hurt! your sitting really close to the ice!!!

Well i have been ice skating for 9 years and i can do an Axel and all doubles...except double Axel. Tips on an Axel...well things to do to get the rotation good is to jump up like a waltz jump then land and do a back scratch spin...When you do this it will help with your rotation. Also if you have a coach then ask to use the harness. It will really help. Just make sure you go up and out. Jump roping is good to do when trying to strengthen your legs. Also doing squats is great. For your camel a good way to get more rotation is by stepping into it with more momentum. And that will help.. Any more questions about ice skating just ask!! Thanks I'm sure you will be fine if you just practice.!

I found out that a great way to make everything better is to get really strong core muscles when your core muscles are strong your back gets stronger. When you do a camel really hold in your abs try doing crunches or crunches on a ball are even better bend your leg more then you think you do when going into the camel just dont fall and hold in everything really tight thats what I do and it works for me. For your axel, jump up and down but press your legs and feet towards the floor and that makes your legs stronger making it easier to get up in the air it will help your sit spin and do squats too they make it easier to get up and down in your sit spin

My advice is strech! Before you get on the ice strech for about 10 minutes. I'm a skater and this really helps. For camel put your arms back to help keep you balanced. If you can't lift your leg so high yet, try spinning with your leg only about 2 feet off the ice. Gradually keep bringing it higher and higher and you'll finally get it. Good Luck!

LOL why not sleep when you can? I've stayed up 48 hours, not because I f**ed it up but because I have sleeping issues and can't get to sleep however tired I am. Sounds stupid but be grateful for, well, being able to sleep when others are lucky to get 2/3 hours a night, and go many days with no sleep at all. Putting that a side, if you want to stay awake, close your eyes for just a bit and relax, be careful not to fall asleep, but just relax. Maybe 5/10 minutes. Then get up and you would feel slightly more energized. It works for me but my sleep is messed, and I'm a bit weird.... annnyywwaaay, good luck! :) xx

are you training urself or do u have a coach?
if you're training yourself, maybe just keep practicin or if a friend that can do those things can help. or conder having a coach.
if you are taking lessons w/ a coach, try getting pointers from him/her and if your area has public skate time at the local arena then you can fit in extra practice time there
like for me the season's over but i still go to public skate to practice some things that i still need to work on and it does help so i hope it helps you too :D
