I do all the time! My friend and I told a guy to stop smoking once, and another time I did a little kiss-kiss thing to him and he did one back. Their Great friends to have, lol!!

hahah yeah. They're the best!!! At my local ski resort, the ski-lift guys are awesome!! If the lift unexpectedly stops, they come out and throw candy and gum at you. sometimes they throw snowballs, so you have to declare that you want revenge and stock up on snow the next time you pass them. And of course, to give them entertainment, people try to do crazy stunts when getting off the lifts ( which usually doesn't work . . . I've wiped out a couple of times . . . ).

Yes, by all means! Chances are, they are bored as h***. Usually, they all love to ski/board and will do anything to be out on the slopes, even if it means working the mindless task of minding the lifts to get a free lift ticket; and to be able to do so, they have a good sense of humor. At my home resort, I know all of the lift guys. They know me as the racer in the purple coat and throw snowballs at me when I pass midstation. It's fantastic having a fun relationship with the lift dudes, because when your friends aren't there, you can have just as much fun with the lift guys. They also give you a last run after the slopes 'close.'
I love my lift buddies!

You should definately talk to them, they have one of the worst jobs ever. If people talked to them more maybe they'd be a bit happier and be better at what they do. I couldn't imagine getting paid a crappy wage to freeze all day, shoveling snow and having to deal with idiots while your friends are ripping the powder. Lifties have a bad rep but their job really sucks. Say hi to them every once in a while, it'll help their day go by better.

It wont kill you to say hello and make them feel like somebuddy instead of just a number on the payroll. Besides if its like the place i ski sometimes during the week its the only person you can talk to during the day.

Yeah one time there was a hot ski lift operator and I winked at her and she winked back. I am the man.

I love talking to lifties. They are usually the best people to find out whats going on in town and where the hot spots on the mountain are.

always, these are usually the best folks on the hill. And besides it never hurts talking to a fine ski bunny, am i wrong? nope. These guys work their *** off for your enjoyment, don't be an ***, say hi.

Yes, I do all the time. They think I'm kinda crazy, but they remember me (just for that reason). It's very amusing. My friends tell them to stop smoking and they don't listen. hehe.

OMG the ones at my place are great and most of them are ski fanatics! I love their ski bikes too!! great to listen to, befriend, and learn from!

Ya you should talk to them, i had that job once and the only fun part was when people talked, its so repetative and boring so its fun when someone says somethig interesting.
