Is an old mk3 lee-enfield rifle worth going through the hassle of putting a scope on? It has a sporterized stock, but all the original hardware is there and the barrel is still the correct length and everything. I would mainly be using it for deer hunting, maybe getting into moose in a few years, but I probably would never get into anything over 150 yards. Also, is it true that they were just painted with black paint instead of blued or something like that?

Top break W/folding trigger.Serial number351. I've never seen anything quite like it. It has two symbols on it, a stylized lion with a line under it below which are the letters P.V. and a star over a capital E. Thanks.

I plan on putting this scope on a savage 308 for hunting, target shooting, and plinking

I just can't bring my self to pony up the $1200$ for a nice leupold snif snif

Basically will this scope take a beating and suit me well for shots from 75-800 yards

I am also considering

Is it safe to have like the first 6 rounds of a magazine in Hollowpoint , and then have the rest FMJ's??

I think if you had to use the gun and the hollowpoints did not work I would want the last few rounds to pack a punch of FMJ.

Just curious why other categories aren't plagued by this ego driven phenomena. Most of the hunters I associate myself with are more than willing to help others without having to try and impress them with claims of experience and years afield. If you are knowledgeable it will come through in the way you answer. Am I the only one that feels this way?

I currently am working on a new mixture of 9lbs of pure lead to 1lb of wheel weights, anyone have any idea what this will be for a BHN? I want to load a 240 grain round nose for my 44 magnum for small game loading and want some expansion on the bullet without leading my barrel.

This might be a dumb question but is lead ammo for 38 special revolvers dangerous to handle? You can't get lead poisoning from it right?

I have been interested in the P7 pistol from H&K for years. All sources I have read say that H&K stopped production decades ago though. Is anyone else making them? Does there patent still prevent other from manufacturing it? How much is a decent one used? How cheap can you find them? How much is too much to pay? Just general information on modern production runs and prices is what I am after. Thanks.

Why do you call it hunting when you shoot the animal when it is standing over the food that you are feeding it? I see no sport in killing something that is comming for a free meal. To me it is the same as shooting a caged animal. Hunting is about skill, not the best feed. Am I wrong?

I can understand setting out feed spots all over the land to lure in the critters into that area so you have a better chance of getting one, setting up scents and useing calls to lure them in and then sitting in the blinds or tree and then waiting on one to come walking in. All these methods take skills to nab the animal because you need to know the area, how to use the scents and calls.

I know a few hunters that sit over the feed and then shoot and all they will tell me is they know they will get something that way. I am not here to gripe I would just like to know why you feel it is still considered hunting and why you use this method.

Hey, i'm guessing since your on here you either own a gun shop, or were interested by the question, but either way your here and helpful information is a plus. I am 13 years old and i love hunting and guns. Im not a psycho with guns or anything, im pro guns and pro gun control. I have had the dream of owning a gun shop, because it is a job I would really really love because I would relate with the customers or others at the shop. I was wondering what kind of money it takes to start, what it takes to get a license, or what kind of license I need, what kind of schooling it takes. I plan straight out of highschool to join the army for a few years, i'm doing the 2 year enlistment to help with college and pass time, and keep myself out of trouble. Then when im 21 or 22 start my schooling and work on my license and gunsmith work to get ready for the shop. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.~Silas
