Wish to age new brass on muzzleloader rifle to make it appear antique or of vintage age

In most cases, a simple wipe with ammonia will do it. Dip it in it if you need to. Just darken it and then polish the highlights and repeat as often as necessary. It'll darken the brass damned fine....but it's not temporary! The brass will have to be polished completely if you plan to remove it later.

I believe lemon juice will do the trick as well.
