it belonged to my dad. it has jp sauer & sohn, suhl cal. 7,65 on the left side.on the left side trigger guard it has a small marking that i can't make out with the number 37 underneath it. it has black checkered handgrips with SS on the left side.on the right side it has PATENT, the #'s 316514, a small marking that i can't make out and the letter "N". it shoots 32 auto shells. can anyone give me any info about it , the approximate value would be nice too. it seems fairly old i know dad had it in the 60's and it shoots good and is in real good condition.it has a leather holster with it and a spare clip. i've seen model 38's on the net and it looks just like them. any help will be appreciateed.

Based on your description and the fact you say it looks like the J.P. Sauer & Sohn Model 38...

I think you have a J.P. Sauer & Sohn Model 1913 7.65mm (.32 ACP caliber here in the U.S.) 7 Shot, 3 " Barrel Semi-Automatic Pistol. The "SS" markings on the left grip are the initials for Sauer & Sohn..They were manufactured between 1913 & 1931 in Germany (Obviously)

In good to excellent condition they are valued between $85-$100 in todays market. You can ADD an additional $30 to the value for the Original J.P.S & S Holster and extra magazine if they are 100% Original. The holster should also have the "SS" markings stamped on it.......
