letting everyone know that an ak-47 hits harder. a local police officer tested one out and told me about it. he took it 900 ft. away from the target and shot. the target was a tree with the kevlar and metal plate on it and behind it was a big bucket of water and behind that a levee. he shot it and it went through the metal plate then the kevlar than the tree through the other side of the kevlar through the bucket of water and the bullet got lost in the levee somewhere. hope that helps

I was told by an American friend that a 'slug' is shotgun ammo made up of a solid piece of lead rather than smaller shot.

Now I don't know anything about guns, but isn't a shotgun slug just a crude bullet then? Why would you want this when you can just use a large-calibre rifle which would fire a much more effective single projectile- surely the whole idea of a shotgun is that their ammo spreads out as it is fired?

Like I say I am no expert so please excuse me if I have made a mistake. Also, am I to gather these 'slugs' would be illegal for a shotgun owner in the UK, as I have never heard of them over here?

i need to buy a gun for safety from gangs and many other people living in my neighbourhood i am doing this because one of my good friends died because of being shot by a gang and i want to have the protection i need just incase i get in this situation. i am looking for a good quality pistol like a 9mm or .38 somthing along those lines does any body know where i can buy one i dont have my license or anything and im not the age to buy a gun.
