I just bought a new 30-06 and I need help setting my scope. Most of my shots will be around 60-100 yards. Max shot of 200 yards, because that is my comfort zone for a sure shot. Should I use one inch high at 100 yards??

It is so sad when family members accidentally kill a family member. In this mornings paper a Grandfather shot his 18 year old grandson. Two will die from this accident since the Grandfather has to be 65 to 75 and will probably die from grief within the year.

I just cannot comprehend Hunting when we do not have to.

last night while i was having drinks with friends i overheard two men talking about their deer hunt. One had shot 2 deer but couldnt track them in the rain the other shot a racoon because he got bored. I applaud sportsman and their right to a great tradition, However these BOZOS give hunting the bad name some many liberal tree huggers use to their advantage. My Question is why just kill to kill? shouldnt conservation and good practices be on the forefront of every hunters mind?

A lot of you think she's going to take away your guns and ban them.
Please tell me EXACTLY where you've gotten this information. I don't want some right wing spin, I want an ACTUAL QUOTE of hers from a LEGITIMATE news source such as Associated Press, I'll even accept FOX "News" as a source for this one!
Please also tell me what gun you can own now, that you believe you will not be able to own if she becomes president.
Finally, if you own this gun now, what EXACTLY do you need this "wonder weapon" for? Please tell me why you purchased it and what its purpose is.
Thanks. Sorry if I got you worked up.

i have a 12 volt battery. my 2 battaries both brand new for my boat keep draining way to fast i hook them up to the charger, cahrge them on 2 amp or 8amp for slow charge and there charged within 10 minuites. then an hour later they lost there charge and there back to like 60 % charge. i took one battary back to the store and got a new one well it does the same thing. im keeping filled wtih the right kind of water and im not setting them on concrete or anything where theyll drain but they still keep draining! whats the deal? could it be my battary charger. i think its like a speed charger from walmart is the name. it only takes like 10-15 minutes to charge up on 2 amp(slow charge) is that to quick? but the battary charger wouldnt drain the battaries, would it? i mean i unhook it from the charger when im done? help please...this is really frustrating

Could you please recommend a .22 Long Rifle semiauto pistol for precision plinking? I don't intend to compete but do want a pistol that's accurate and well made. Price is not an issue. I'm willing to pay for quality. I've researched the S&W Model 41, Browning Buck Mark, and High Standard line, but would appreciate some insight based on your experience. I'm willing to consider other makes in light of your recommendations.

If his father gave it to him for his birthday? A legal firearm.

I know an 18 year old can take it to the range by himself to do target practice so would it be legal if a father gave the gun to his son?

Is it legal or not?

I want to start hunting and I've decided that my first gun will be a shotgun rather than a rifle.

I would like to be able to use it for both deer and birds. I think a 12gauge will suit my needs, but as far as brands and models, I'd like to hear some suggestions. I'm looking to keep the total cost (new or used) under $500

I remember reading it in my textbook and it got me interested because it's something that I like do to (exploring & hiking).

Basically, it's this sport where all you have is a map, compass, and basic food. The main objective is to visit all points on the map in a quick and safe route (nobody tells how or where each location is). You usually do it in pairs and is mostly held in the forest or mountains. Competing against each other to find the quickest route to all locations/points on the map before the other team does.

It's like an outdoor exploration hike.

Hey its me again. I have a few 22. but i found a site and the ammo for a .17 is not much more than 22. I am looking a 223's now. Are 17 any good? The 223's are a whole lot more than the .17 so if the .17 are good Ill get one of those. I found a Savage .17 cal. its like 200 bucks and that would be nice. I have a half a dozen 22. rifles though. what are good coyote rifles for like 200.? help me again!

I'm looking for a caliber that can take down a grizzly bear in 5 or 6 shots and something for concealed carry. Thinking .44 magnum is perfect. Any other ideas? I know a .45 isn't a bad option but i'm looking for something a bit bigger because there are BIG! mothers in my woods! lol
