Hey its me again. I have a few 22. but i found a site and the ammo for a .17 is not much more than 22. I am looking a 223's now. Are 17 any good? The 223's are a whole lot more than the .17 so if the .17 are good Ill get one of those. I found a Savage .17 cal. its like 200 bucks and that would be nice. I have a half a dozen 22. rifles though. what are good coyote rifles for like 200.? help me again!

The .17 hmr is a LOT more than a .22 lr. 2500 fps and at 200 yards it has the same muzzle velocity of a 22lr at the barrel. It's fine for yotes up to 150 yards. Two down so far and a lot more to go, both head shots at about 75 yards and dropped in their tracks!

The Savage is an excellent buy especially if has the accutrigger. I just bought a 93r17 classic about a month ago and it is so incredibly accurate it blows me away. However the .223 is a great round also, and if you are primarily interested in the yotes then it would probably be a better choice.

sorry the .17 is not a "good" coyote gun the .223 is "good" but i recomend a .22-250 with FMJ ammo it wont expand much so you can sell the pelt for a higher price

Your best choices for your purpose are 22 Hornet, 218 Bee, 222, 22-250.*

.17 cal. is a good gun for woodchucks, crows & other small game. a .222, .22-250 & .243, would be good coyote guns.
you aren't gonna find 1 of those for under $ 200.00, unless it is beat to hell

I would be looking at the used gun rack at the local gun stores......then take a couple of 22 lr rifles down to see if you could trade and knock the price down a little....( how many 22lr's do you need) .....
