I don't know if Remington is still using a 24" barrel in their 700 series rifles. I own an early one (from 1974) and it has always been extremely accurate. Look also at the Rugers. The Ruger #1 should have at least a 24" barrel and maybe even a 26" barrel. As far as adjustable triggers, have one put in by a competent gunsmith. I like the 'push-to-pull' myself.
Best.

I would look into a Tikka T3. They are reasonably priced, trigger is adjustable 2-4 lbs, weighs under 7lbs, guaranteed 3 shot 1 inch groups at 100 yards, but only 22 1/2 inch barrel.
I have one in .243 that I really like and I shot a 3/4 inch group with the cheapest factory ammo I could find.

I do not think you are going to find a brand new 25-06 with a 24" barrel unless you go with something from Remington's Custom shop or a rifle along the lines of a Cooper or a custom rifle.

way, some time past, a fellow named Phil Sharpe examined speed loss in a 30/06. He started out with a 28" barrel, chornographed his photos and shrink off an inch every time. have been given all the way right down to 9" whilst his shoulder have been given too sore to proceed. almost consistently words he got here upon that he misplaced approximately 50 ft consistent with 2d speed for each inch of barrel length. Now i will not inform you that this innovations will translate for all calibers. by the way, he loaded all his very own ammo and tried for as lots consistency in bullet weight and powder quantity and primer form and cartridge case means as obtainable. His archives probable is indicative, almost consistently words, of what you may assume from maximum extreme-powered calibers. To make a valid evaluation you're able to communicate approximately oranges and oranges, not oranges and apples. i don't know the relative velocities of the .270 in comparison to the 7mm08. look at some reloading manuals. look on the relative bullet weights. The 7mm is a .284 bullet, the .270 is smaller so the bullet weights would be different. in certainty probable that is not significant. Accuracy is far greater significant. To get your superb accuracy you quite have handy load your ammo. in case you do this, you may play around with bullet weights and velocities and probable get as good overall performance from the two one.
