Port Canaveral, just north of Cocoa Beach would be the place to look for offshore charters (even charter capt.'s out of C.B. would be leaving from the Port). Call ahead to make sure that you'll have an opportunity... there may be some party boats, but... I don't care too much for party boats, rather spend more and know everyone onboard and not have to worry about how many gaffs there are to go around. If you can't find any offshore trips available, don't rule out an inshore charter, they usually don't cost as much, and just because you won't catch a monster in the Indian River doesn't mean you won't catch any big fish.

Good luck and have fun.

Oh, btw, not sure where you're staying in Orlando, but just head east on either S.R. 50 (Colonial Dr.) to I-95 in Titusville, go south on I-95 to S.R. 528 in Cocoa, and you'll see all the ships and stuff when you get to the port... follow the signs...

You can also take 528 all the way out, it's a toll road until you leave Orange County, and may be a bit out of your way... not sure.

Anyway, good luck and have fun.

The closest place to go deep sea fishing near Orlando, would be at Meritt Island or Port Canaveral, on the Atlantic coast

i might say the Gulf area. like the above answer reported the Gulf is to the west not the east however the Gulf of Mexico is the hotter of the climate and warmer water many times potential greater constructive fishing. i might particularly look at diverse charters and make beneficial they are up on your standards. Google is mostly a stable option besides to be sure innovations. stable success fishin'!
