Outdoor Recreation - May 2007

I am looking for a shortened shot gun for home defense and collection. For under 500 dollar, what are the choices? I am also concerned about the shotgun's durability and reliability. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

i know i have to take a handgun safety class, and then submit the certification with my concealed carry application, but how long after you submited it did it take you to get yours??

I shoot my Bushmaster M4 and Marlin 1894 cowboy in 44. mag the best and for pistol im good with my P14 45. acp ..... they fit me good nice and lite.

I have a winchester model 1897 shotgun. I have found out how to remove the barrel and the magazine from the front of the gun and was wondering how to take appart the magazine in order to clean it. I need to remove the end cap, spring etc. How to you do the magazine appart in order to access those parts and fully clean out the tube?

I am in the market for a rifle with some history. I love the m1 but they are so pricey nowadays and the CMP is sold out for 7 months. Plus its a semi so I could not use it to hunt in PA. Or should I get a mauser. Great gun with alot of history that will have all the nazi markings and I would be able to use it for hunting. But ammo is expensive and rare compared to 30-06. Any opinions?
