One that you can easily replace if lost or accidently picked up by someone else. One of the biggest pet peeves of camp counselors is kids and parents who whine and cry and carry on over an expensive water bottle being lost. Your child will be carrying it all over camp and will have it during activites where ti will be left in a gorup with the other bottles. They get lost all the time! Speding money on a Nalgene or something like that is not highly recommended.
I recommend an inexpensive bottle from WalMart or the grocery store or even a soda bottle as the person above me suggested. What also works is a Deer Park or pre-bottled water bottle with a sport top that is easy to open and close but won't get lost because it never gets removed. You can refill it with tap water of course. Make sure you label the bottle in LARGE permanent letters with your childs first and last name so it is easily identifiable. Some kids like the bottle with a strap so they can throw it over their shoulder but again, it's not necessary.

Nalgene makes cute little bottles that are small enough that you could take a carabeaner and clip it onto a childs belt loop without tearing it but also big enough to hold water for half a day or so

I'm sure any old empty 1 liter soda bottle will suffice, but I suppose if you had some money laying around burning a hole or whatnot, you could pick up one of those Camelbak 25 oz. hard plastic bottles, which I just noticed tonight are on sale for $8.99 down from $12.00 at REI. http://www.rei.com/product/738724

Nalgene is the only brand to consider as it is truly unbreakable ( trust me I have tried. ) if you do manage to break one other than popping the top please let me know through this site. thanx
