I just heard on sportsnet (canadian channel) that they may not be holding the World Cup 2010 in South Africa...there may be a possibility that it will be held in Australia or USA. Fifa has till the end of 2006 to decide.
Has anyone else heard this??

Okay, Nigeria & Cameroon didn't qualify, yet are ranked ranked 11 & 12th, Uruguay 14th with WC countries such as Sweden (22), Poland (30), Australia (33, and they qualified AGAINST Uruguay), Korea (57 !!, crazy). Why did Canada jump by 29 spots to #54, I'm Canadian and they never win.England is ranked ahead of both Portugal and Germany?

heard from news on tv that materazzi confessed that he did insult zidane but denied calling him terrorist or insulted his family whatsoever. do u agree that materazzi should at least apologise to zidane?

Seriouly... everyone answering questions says "if someone said that about my mom i'd do the same" or "if someone called me a terrorist i'd hit them too" This is because everyone chooses random speculation that best suits their opinion of what justifies it. Just for the record, Materazzi lost his mom at 15 and stated that although he insulted zidane, mothers are sacred and he would never say something about anyone's mother. he also denied the terrorist allegation. these are things that "lip readers" came up with after reading the SAME lips... rumours lead to contraversy. No matter what, part of being a respectable player is to be able to deal with the BS that is said in the heat of the game... Zidane let it get the best of him. Not to mention, he's done it twice before.

I personally found Klinsmann to be one of the greatest coaches ever. He had faith in a team other's expected to fail...and he was able to put them in the top three. I really wish he didn't leave the team but I do think he'll visit the team during practice and during their games but I wish he didn't leave. What are your thought on him leaving?

This isn't directed to all but many who insist that it was okay for Zidane to react violently to Materazzi's comment which was allegedly but not definitely race related among other speculations. If you can justify the headbutt in the name of a racial insult and then turn around and in the same sentence call italians scum among other things. Everyone needs to grow up and stop being hypocrits. Maybe it wasn't nice of Materazzi to insult him in whatever way but if everyone reacted the way zidane did every time their feelings got hurt, this world would be ridiculous. Materazzi didn't end Zidane's career with a red card... he did it on his own because he acted out of impulse. It has nothing to do with the french vs the italians... i for one had the most respect for zidane until i saw his reaction on sunday and i'm sure many will agree that instead of trying to shift the blame, just as the rest of us, zidane should be responsible for his own actions.
