I am trying to install the cateye enduro 8 on my bike but there is a little thing which is confusing me if i install the magnet at the end of the spoke it will hit the sensor faster than if it was on the top so it will give inacurate reading.. it dosen't say anything in the instruction.

I want a bike for riding on urban trails (pavement) many times a week, and I really, really cannot spend that much at this point. The ones I saw at Wall-Mart look just fine but I wonder if they start coming apart after a few rides.

Yes I could get bike carriers for the back but I want something more secure. It is also quicker to put it in the back rather than fiddling with straps.

I had a look at a Peugot 407 yesterday but the opening looked very restrictive. Anyone with any experience of this?

C'mon... waiting til July to pick is for noobs. Lay your cards down now.

My prediction: JENS VOIGHT will win the 2007 Tour de France.
Bookmark this page... you'll need to read it again on July 29th to prove you weren't dreaming that some guy on the internet got it right, way back in March...

I am training for a road ride in exactly one month. I have not ridden a bike regularly for about 5 years (and then only for a few miles at a time). Several months ago I rode 20 miles (I am not sure how long it took me). I consider myself to be in decent shape. Today I started my training I went about 9.5 miles in just over an hour. I plan to train 1-2 hours 5-6 days a week (that seems to be the recommended amount of training).

What do you think is a realistic goal for the distance I will be able to ride?
Here are the choices:
A. 50 miles - Day 1
B. 75 miles - Day 1
C. 75 miles - Day 1
35 miles - Day 2
D. 75 miles - Day 1
75 miles - Day 2 (I am pretty sure this one is out)

I'm in the market for a new road bike and this is going to be my first big investment in one. I'm on the verge of making a purchase and it's come down to 2 contenders.

- New 2006 Lemond Versailles - $1300

Shimono 105 components

- Used 2001 Co-Motion Expresso Dura Ace - $750

Shimono Dura Ace componetss, Good Condition,
was $2700 when new in 2001.

I'm interested in some feedback. I'm going to be using it to ride to and from work (24 miles daily) and some longer weekend rides.

Thanks

I was trying to get a job in some bike shops around London (Evans/Cycle Surgery/Mosquito etc...) but all of them refused me. I was in road cycling for good 8 years and I know almost everything about maintenance. Done a year in the bikeshop few years ago. Does anyone have an idea what type of person they looking for to employ? The fact that all of them rejected me driving me mental. Thank you!

I just got some clipless pedals and was installing the cleats and had a question.

i can't get the flat nut that goes inside the shoe to get thread. The bolt is just long enough to thread into the shoe. It LOOKS like it will hold with just that. Is this safe?

The bolts are only screwed into the threads of the shoe and not the flat nut inside the shoe. (The flat nut is not part of the shoe)

I posted earlier but need clarification. I'm buying a used road bike for 500$ which is a lot of money, and was wondering what ALL the things are I should look over the bike before buying. Also, when riding the bike, what should I be aware of? Also, how do I test to make sure the components are solid..? By the way, the bike is my size, and it's a Giant OCR 2 from 2003. I believe it's the aluminum frame, Tiagra Derailers, STI shifters and all that. Looks pretty new from the pics, no scratches etc. But I still want to thoroughly check it before buying.

I want to start mountain biking and don't know too much about it. Should I buy and expensive bike from a bike shop or go to a retail store and buy what looks okay to ride?

Right now i have a cheap dyno full suspension bike and its time to upgrade. i do alot of riing around the county, just flat land but real muddy so if my budget was 500 $ what would be a better investiment, getting a harttail bike or getting a full suspension bike. Also for those conditions what wouldbe better, V brakes or Disc brakes.
