No, NO, no. Bicycles might look simple but putting together a bike requires a level of expertise that a stock person at Target will not have. Get a bike from a local bike shop and it will be put together right and be sized right for you. It will also last longer and have after sale support in case you need adjustments, tune ups, accessories. Try asking Target to straighten out a wheel or adjust the brakes so they don't rub. It's not so much which bike you buy but where you buy it.

First, if you are concerned about weight don't go to a discount store, and don't expect to pick up a good bike for $170.00.
Second, since you mentioned weight, you are probably looking for performance. Forget all the bells and whistles on the S60... each time you add something fancy looking, the durability and performance of something else is sacrificed. They just don't add stuff out of the goodness of their heart.
Third, if you want to get the highest performance possible for the least amount of money, I would recommend you look into Diamondback or Raleigh... the Diamondback Sorrento or Response are both good solid bikes for under $350.00. You lose the full suspension, but the S60 setup is horrible anyway.

I looked at this bike a few times for myself. IF you can do your own repairs, you may be O.K. If not, BEWARE. The Schwinn S60 is O.K. and uses pretty standard bike components. In other words, it is very repairable. It is still far from excellent. If weight is an issue, your shopping in the wrong place.
