In New York City, can you bring a bicycle on a bus (MTA Bus or NYCT Bus)? I know you can bring them on the subway, but is it possible on a bus (in particular, the Q65A)? Do any of the buses have bike racks?
I know this is sort of redundant, but I have people coming from places as far as Astoria and Jamaica that might take the subway to the Q65A. I know it's not far, and it's not even a 10-minute ride from the train to where we're meeting (Meadow Lake), but some people don't know exactly how to get there, and the bus stops right across the street from there.
If it is legal, do you need to pay a fare for the bike (will they charge you another $2)?
Thank you.

I'm a female living in NYC, and I want to buy a starter bike (maybe used, as I'm not sure yet how much I will use it), to ride around the city. I don't want anything too fancy, but I'd like something useful and decent. Does anyone have any advice?

I am going to buy a hybrid some time in the next two weeks. I am thinking of the Specialized Sirrus Comp or Sport the Trek FX 7.6 or the Gary Fisher Mendota, but I am open to other suggestions. Does anyone have any good ideas? I have less then $1000 to spend maybe a tad more if there are noticable differences. I use it for comuting but definatly will go on long rides on the weekends.

I'm hoping to buy the 50cm orange Sprint from BikesDirect.com. Anyone with praise/complaints for the shop or the bike is welcome to reply!

I see people doing it all the time, but one time my brother said it doesn't make sense for me to ride a bike in the snow. Aren't there such bikes called SNOW BIKES?

I feel like bike dealers are like used car lots and really trying to rip me off. If I buy online I won't be able to test ride it before I buy. Is there a better way to buy a new mountain bike that I don't know of?

I heard that the cap's rounded peak can cause injury somehow.

Please list sources of any info if you know of it.

i currently have a Giro Animas thats one size too large for me, so im looking for a new helmet. what should i buy? Jenson USA has a small Giro Animas red/black for $105, and a Giro Atmos black/pewter for $125 ($10 shipping on each). i really like the Atmos and ive seen other guys racing them in XC, but is it worth the extra money?

do you have any other suggestions for helmets? i need a size small.

I have a Mongose mountain bike. It was fairly expensive ($700's) but now getting into it I notice bikes with parts that cost maybe more than my entire bike. I am not aiming to go pro still I take the rough trails, will my bike break on me?

my rear deraillieur stopped working today, although not completely. It shifts to the larger rear sprockets but it will no longer shift back to the smaller sprockets. The cable slackens and tightens so the shifter is fine, but the deraillieur will not shift the chain. It looks OK, but perhaps the spring has broken inside it?
