I heard that the cap's rounded peak can cause injury somehow.

Please list sources of any info if you know of it.

The answer is YES.

In addition to what you have already mentioned, the stitching, fitting strap, and top "button" can also cause injury that wouldn't normally occur. It also allows the helmet to slide around which can also be risky.

Also, the beak of the cap- whether worn to the front or to the rear will cause the helmet to be forced back or forward which reduces the ability of the helmet to protect the main areas... the forehead and the skull/spinal area.

Unfortunately, many helmet users wear them so that the forehead is completely exposed.

To my understanding as long as the helmet still fits snuggly it is fine. There is an slightly increased risk that the brim may break you skin or bruise but that is all. The sun protection provided for the face more than makes up for this short fall.
