which is better and what size for 5'4" 110lb woman?

First and foremost you should definitely take a ride on both because they're are at the exact same price point (MSRP $390)!

Second of all to answer your question as much as I can I did a little bit of research on the bikes. One of the main components to look at in a mtb, frames aside, is definitely the fork. They both actually have the same RST Gilla Plus T7, 100mm fork!

Most of the components are entry level on both bikes. One thing I did notice and this happens with a lot of Specialized bikes is that they do offer a better crankset (the cranks where your pedals are conneced to) using a Truvativ one over Trek's SR XCC one's which are not up to par. Under normal riding and with the right tuning though you won't be able to tell the difference.

first, make sure you go to your local bike shop to get fitted (this will be the right way to see what the correct size is for you)
secong, I prefer Specialized
