Basketball - March 2007

According to commentators, I keep hearing that Stoudamire is fully recovered from his surgery, and I occasionally see highlight reel dunks to back it up, but I can't shake the feeling that some of his explosiveness is gone.

I still haven't seen anything like that incredible playoff performance from two years ago, and I feel like I'm seeing a lot of finger rolls and lay-ins in place of crushing dunks.

But that's only based on the 2 or 3 Suns games I've been able to watch.

Any Suns fans who can comment?

So I was watching the Texas-USC game with my buddy, and I mentioned to him that Durant has mad skills and I would love to see him on the Knicks. The very next day I get a call from the league telling me that I would be fined for making comments about Kevin Durant. Did this happen to anyone else??? Stupid NBA and their rules...now i know how danny ainge and michael jordan feel.

Thats the reason if you think about it that Stern might change the venue of the All Star game to overseas. He is sick of thug posses turning the city of the all star game into a war zone. I mean look at pac man jones, what the hell is his deal? Loaning cars to drug dealers. Joey Porter slapping people at casinos. What is the deal?

Does anyone think that the SEC gets no love? Last year it was all about the Big East and the SEC had LSU and Florida in the Final Four, then Florida won the National Championship. This year, the SEC only got in 5 teams, but those 5 teams went 7-2 in the tournament (the best of all conferences) and have three teams in the Sweet 16 (Florida, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt). Yet they still aren't getting any respect.

Do you agree? And if not, tell me why (not just opinions, I'd like to see stats to back up your answers)?

Plz explain why the Big10 and BigEast are continued to be hyped up but always fall short when it comes tourney time? I mean Wisconsin and Ohio State are SOOOOO overrated and there are now just 1 Big10 team left after just 2 rounds (got 7 in i believe). There is just 2 teams from the BigEast left after getting 6-7 in. The ACC i am not gonna lie im surprised there is just 1 but that 1 is capable of winning it all fairly easily. I mean did they not learn last season when the BigEast was given 2 #1 seeds and got 9 teams but failed to get ANY to the final 4 while the SEC got 2 of 6 in the final 4? The SEC again was shunned but yet they still have 3 left and have got 7-2 so far (best among conferences). Dont use parity - there isnt a single double digit seeded team left and the double digit seeded teams went just 2-28 this yr in the tourney. Every team seeded 8 and up failed to win more than 1 game, thats 36 teams and NONE of them could win more than 1 game. Parity is not an issue.

As much as i want them to go far, the way the TEAM has played they're not going anywhere in the playoffs. They'll play either Spurs or Suns, cant see them getting by either off them. I think even Kobe has realised with him going off, its a lost cause.
