Plz explain why the Big10 and BigEast are continued to be hyped up but always fall short when it comes tourney time? I mean Wisconsin and Ohio State are SOOOOO overrated and there are now just 1 Big10 team left after just 2 rounds (got 7 in i believe). There is just 2 teams from the BigEast left after getting 6-7 in. The ACC i am not gonna lie im surprised there is just 1 but that 1 is capable of winning it all fairly easily. I mean did they not learn last season when the BigEast was given 2 #1 seeds and got 9 teams but failed to get ANY to the final 4 while the SEC got 2 of 6 in the final 4? The SEC again was shunned but yet they still have 3 left and have got 7-2 so far (best among conferences). Dont use parity - there isnt a single double digit seeded team left and the double digit seeded teams went just 2-28 this yr in the tourney. Every team seeded 8 and up failed to win more than 1 game, thats 36 teams and NONE of them could win more than 1 game. Parity is not an issue.

Ohio St. shouldnt even be in it, the refs DICKED Xavier and shouldve given Oden a technical/flagrant which couldve taken away any chance the Buckeyes had at coming back (Lewis' 3 wouldnt have tied it). Also bad coaching (shouldve fouled before Lewis got the shot off). OSU will get bounced shortly, either by UT or the next round by A&M/Memphis. GTown has a legitimate chance but Pitt will be bounced soon. But the point is that the media controls way to much in what happens in determining these brackets and who gets in yada yada - i mean the BigEast and Big10 are completely overrated, i mean badly. Especially the Big10.
Any suggestions of why?

The ACC only has 1 team left despite getting the most teams into the tourney. Duke, Ga. Tech, BC, Maryland, and every team from the ACC has been bounced with the exception of UNC. The SEC isnt the greatest conf. from top to bottom but they have some studly teams that everyone overlooked. I dont mean Florida (although they are getting bad mouthed by morons on ESPN) but UT and Vandy were left out of the discussions of sweet 16 teams and now they are there. The Pac10 has gotten 3 teams to the sweet 16 also (Oregon, UCLA, and USC) so they are also another conf. but they were talked about often (except USC).
What i dont get is everyone on ESPN is saying that a close W will "get OSU going" (same was said for Wisconsin - look what happened) but Florida beat Purdue (w/o any officiating help and it wasnt really that close, Purdue never led the 2nd half while Xavier was up 3 with less than 10 seconds against OSU) but ppl say Florida is "doomed". I dont get it....

The SEC hasn't gotten the respect they should since Kentucky was their flagship conference team. It's sad too, because last year the SEC was given no respect and they turned around, put two teams in the Final Four AND won the National Championship. And the SEC could potentially repeat this year with another National Championship win. At the end of the season they were rated #2 in the RPI behind the ACC. And they were just as successful in play against big teams from other conferences. Florida pounded Ohio State by 26 points. They only lost by 2 to Kansas in OT. Tennessee just beat Virginia by 3 and beat Memphis by 18. Vanderbilt just beat Washington State by 4. You would think that resume alone would at least be getting them some respect now? But I guess not.

The ACC??? After the last two rounds, how can anyone assert that they are one of the top two conferences as the 2nd poster did? The Big East is at least on a par with them. I fail to see how either they or the Big 10 were so hyped up as you claim. The Big East, like the ACC, is down and the Big 10 was the Big 2 until Butch's injury. Then they became the Big 1 1/2. In fairness to Wisc. they were not the same after his injury 3 weeks ago, but they were plenty good then just as OSU is plenty good now. They are, clearly one of the 6,7 teams with a decent shot. Yes, UNC is one of them but if you think they'll win "fairly easily" you have another thing coming. Remember, this is a team that lost to Va. Tech twice.
Yes, the SEC is strong, but who's denying that? The Big East will always get more teams in because they have 16 teams to everyone else's 10, 11, or 12. And the Big 10, well again, I haven't heard anyone proclaiming the superiority of that league.
Your question presumes a level of hype for these conferences that hasn't existed this year.

I agree that the big 10 is overrated. With that said, I don't think Oden deserved a flagrant. The way I saw it, Oden was just trying to stop the clock as fast as possible. I think the only reason that guy from Xavier went flying like that was because of Odens size. He tried to foul him but not Knock him down. The Pac10 is strong this year but UCLA and USC will be much better next year with their recruits. The Pac10 is almost always underrated although not this year. The selection committee should have left Stanford at home though.

I'd say the Big XII is far more overestimated than what you could suppose the Big Ten is. The Big Ten has been a little down in recent years however those bowl video games weren't all evently matched rivals. Michigan was once an overestimated 7-five group that hardly beat Indiana, Michigan State was once additionally overestimated (they did not need to play Ohio State) and nearly misplaced to Penn State and Purdue even as getting flattened by way of Iowa. Penn State truthfully did not deserve a January bowl recreation, they have been a 7-five group whose first-rate wins have been over Temple and Northwestern. Now, in the event you wish to seem at a few Big Ten victories over SEC groups on the grounds that 2006, how approximately Wisconsin beating Arkansas, the identical Arkansas group that just about beat Florida, Penn State (eight-four) crushing Tennessee (nine-three), Michigan (eight-four) beating Florida (nine-three), Iowa (eight-four) CRUSHING South Carolina (7-five), Penn State beating LSU, and as you stated Arkansas wasting to Ohio State. Or how approximately in opposition to the Big XII wherein Illinois beat up Baylor or how approximately Iowa (7-five) mopping up Missouri (10-two)? Many of the ones bowl matchups had been in opposition to groups with higher files and allow's no longer overlook that during 2009 although the Big Ten was once four-three in bowls, they have been four-zero in opposition to ranked rivals, three-one million in January Bowls, two-zero in BCS Bowls, and all 3 losses have been very near. Big Ten is also most effective moment or 3rd first-rate however has played good in opposition to groups total. But I bet it is handy to inflate your bowl list in case your video games are in opposition to Wichita State just like the Pac-10 and Big East find irresistible to do.
